Read thickness with backing stiffness and edge design. Steel-panel peel compares adhesives but does not predict epoxy or concrete. Initial tack describes early wet-out; holding power and shear describe later movement. Tensile strength indicates break resistance, while elongation signals deformation and shrink-back risk. For solid colors, opacity usually matters more than haze. Temperature, surface treatment, application pressure, dwell, and storage history complete the interpretation.

The Same Roll Changes with the Floor

Fully cured epoxy and sealed concrete can provide repeatable contact, but wax, detergent, oil, or polishing residue changes bonding. Painted floors require a trial because the coating itself may be weak. Rough concrete, cracks, joints, loose aggregate, and low-energy plastics reduce contact or expose edges.

Color visibility and traction are separate requirements. Evaluate non-slip safety tape options where grip is required. Dust, washdown, low-light traffic, or unstable coatings justify reviewing site-specific mining marking conditions before transferring an indoor color system.

Four Checkpoints Before Site Release

Store rolls in original packaging away from sunlight, heat, condensation, dust, and edge pressure. After cold transport, condition the package before opening. Record the batch, receipt date, package condition, and approved master sample.

Does OSHA require yellow aisle lines in every warehouse?
